So this week honestly was a little bit rough. We had a hard time contacting the people we had been most consistently teaching the last 4 weeks. So we had to change a lot of our plans and work through this minor setback. But we kept going, even though our plans didn't work out exactly how we expected them to and we made it! New week so we're ready to go hard this last week.
Oh and by the way, my visa did in fact come. So on Monday I'll be flying out of Kansas to Europe! I'll be flying to Atlanta, then to Amsterdam. I'm super excited to go, but I need to learn some Dutch so I can speak a little bit... haha.
So a few funny stories for this week. Tuesday night we got like 6 inches of snow within like 3 hours so that was fun!! Mini snowball fight with the elders after our dinner appointment, but don't worry, it only lasted about 30 seconds. We still worked hard that night. THEN another day this week (I can't remember which things happened which days usually) it poured like all day!! Our plans in the evening fell through so we knocked some doors before heading home. Because it was raining so hard, we were quite wet... but after the last door we knocked, we were walking back to our car and two cops pulled up. I guess someone called the cops on us haha. He just asked what we were doing out in the rain at night. (It wasn't that late). We just told him that we were missionaries and he said okay, have a good night. Kinda weird.
So as I said this week was kinda hard. We just had everything we planned fall through and so many people cancel on us. Literally everything just wasn't going right. So frustrating!!! But I read in D&C 121: 7-8 "My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes." Tough times don't last, even when they might seem like it. But if we keep going, with a good attitude, our blessings will outweigh our trial. I probably won't get an email out next week, but I love you all lots! Thanks for all of your support and all the nice notes and letters and prayers!! Belgium/Netherlands, here I come!!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
