So let me just mention how much I love Emporia... The Hostess factory is down the street from our apartment so it smells like delicious baked goods all the time. It's AWESOME! And I don't think I've seen such beautiful sunsets ever in my life! Some may complain about Kansas being so flat, but you just see the sunsets for miles each direction and I LOVE it!!
So this week was a CRAZY roller coaster! But still super good. We started with a bunch of lessons as usual and still seeing great miracles everyday!! Some of the highlights were probably that those we are teaching are progressing really well and seem are still very interested in learning more! I only have like two weeks left, so gotta hammer out these next couple of weeks and leave Emporia in a happy and healthy place.
So an amazing miracle that happened this week! This family we're teaching, whom I absolutely adore, has been so amazing at keeping like every commitment. The 9 year old girl we're teaching got sooo excited when we came over to tell us that she taught her 6 year old sister how to pray! Soo cute! The best part is, the 6 year old had a brain tumor when she was really young and has troubles with communication. I've never heard her speak so clearly as she did during her prayer with us. Yes, I shed a few tears, but I have no words to explain how incredible that experience was.
Spiritual thought to go with that story. This week was a little bit rough for me. I got sick on Valentines day and I just wasn't feeling like my usual happy and optimistic self at the beginning of the week. I was praying hard, and studying a lot and doing what I was supposed to, but I just wasn't feeling normal and spectacular. I was frustrated and didn't know why. Was God mad at me for something? Was I not doing my best work? So I went into a room by myself in my apartment and just let it all out to Heavenly Father. After laying it all out, I thought it was probably my turn to sit and listen. Heavenly Father knows each and every one of us! I didn't hear specific words that confirmed to me about how I was doing, but I felt the spirit so strong that Heavenly Father and Christ know me personally, and they're with me every step of this crazy journey. I absolutely love being a missionary!! I know cliche, but oh well. Church is so true! Love you all!!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
