Fam and friends, what's up! What a week here in Kansas! Super busy and eventful, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet.
So first big thing, we had my first zone conference!! Super fun and kinda crazy. The weather was super bad, but we were all safe in our travels. And kinda weird, at the end of the conference, all the missionaries that were leaving gave departing testimonies, and I gave one... because I'm departing. And get this, I'm halfway done with my time here in Kansas. AND Tuesday is my 2 month mark!! Only 16 short months left!!!
We also had exchanges this week. I went up to Topeka for the day with Sister Nay. Let me just say that I gained a greater appreciation for Emporia...
So crazy story of the week. The two people we had on date to be baptized we had to drop because we couldn't get in contact with them. We went over a few times, and they just wouldn't answer the door for us. But one day we both felt like we needed to try one more time. And they opened the door for us and let us in!!! The thing is, 5 minutes later, the pizza man came. So blessed be the pizza man! I think they thought we were him, so they actually opened the door for us. But they decided that they still want to be baptized, and they even came to church and LOVED it!! There can be miracles when you believe. ;)
Spiritual thought of the week. D&C 18:10 says, "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God." I always thought I understood this scripture, but the longer I'm here in the field, I realize that there's so much more work that goes into actually loving EVERYONE. But I can't help but smile when I come out of a really spiritual lesson with cigarette smoke lingering on my clothes all day. Because they're trying! They have that desire to be better and follow Christ. And that's what's important. Love you all and have a fabulous week!!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
Exchanges in Topeka and our fancy Books of Mormon! (I didn't do the books. Not that crafty).
