We actually had our first in-person appointment yesterday! We used to do regular church tours and this lady wanted to do one with her husband right as everything with Corona happened. So after about 2 months we were finally able to meet!! They weren't super religious but found it interesting. At the end my comp and I did a little musical number to end it and that was an extremely touching experience. My comp has a beautiful voice so we did "Be Still My Soul" and everyone was in tears by the end! We later found out that the lady's mother had passed away a few years back and was extremely comforted by the music. I'm always amazed by the power that music has!!
I read a cool talk this week by Elder Hales about facing the world's challenges, but something he said was super interesting. In this life we're meant to learn and progress. But sometimes it's hard to notice the progression we're making or even have motivation to want to progress. There are always voices telling us that we're not enough or it's not worth the effort. But wise counsel from Elder Hales, "If you want more than you now have, reach up." The world will always try to belittle us and trick us into comparing ourselves with others and thinking that it would just be better to give up. But if we look up to God, He tells us to get up and try one more time. Because He knows better than anyone how we can become more than we are. Love y'all lots and have a great week!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
