Forget Yourself and Go to Work

Hey everyone. Life is going pretty good here. Working on making the days count instead of counting down my last few days here. I've come to the realization that 1, trunkiness is REAL and 2, that miracles never cease to exist when we're willing to put in the work to recognize them. Some of my hardest days also had some of the best moments. I've learned that when we choose to focus on those, we truly see the hand of the Lord in our lives.

Miracle for this week!! We received a shocking email from our mission president calling for a last minute mission zoom meeting. My thoughts immediately raced to getting sent home, but that didn't seem realistic so I anxiously waited for what the news would be! Turns out that we're now able to go outside more often and meet with people in their back yards!!! Holy has that been a blessing! I've felt so much joy with being able to visit with the members here and to feel of their love. I never realized how big of a difference meeting in person made!!

Cool spiritual moment for this week. I kinda had a SUPER tough week. Possibly one of the roughest weeks of my mission and I was quite frustrated about that. I thought that I've reached the end, didn't I deserve days filled with love, laughter, and nothing but joy? But while reading a talk from the MTC that talks about the character of Christ and how His character played a big role in why He did so much good while He was here. I realized that if I want to feel happy, I need to focus on the things that make me happy, especially making others happy. I can't control what other people do or say, but I can control what I do for others. It's hard, but forgetting myself and putting the needs of others first will automatically make the trials not seem so bad because I'm not thinking about them! Love you all tons and hope you have an amazing week!
Veel liefs,
