The Wonderful Country of Belgium

Hey y'all how's it going? Another week in the Netherlands has come and gone and am I loving it!! It was a lot cooler this week so yes, I am loving it. So quick rundown of the week. Wednesday we had zone conference in Antwerpen!! Zone conference was awesome, getting there was not. We accidentally got our train time mixed up with the bus time to get to the train station, so we had to look up some new travel plans on the fly. Thankfully, the plans we looked up would get us there on time... the catch is, I guess Belgium trains are frequently late. I was asked to play the piano so I was feeling a bit stressed. My STL and I decided to run to the church after we got off the train and walked in right on time. Needless to say, I'm going to make sure we're nice and early next time!! But other than that it was super spiritual. At the end of the conference, our beloved mission president promised us that if we did our best, we would see miracles.

Now I'm a firm believer that we see miracles everyday, sometimes you just have to look a little bit harder for them. But my lovely comp and I did a mini self check to see what we could do better to potentially witness more miracles. And WOW!!! It amazes me to continually see the goodness of God everyday and the faith to work miracles right before my face! Missionary work is pretty cool sometimes. One specific experience was when we were at a dinner appointment with one of the families in the ward. We decided it would be cool to have them pick a street for us to go knock. The spirit was so strong when their ten year old daughter said a very simple but honest prayer to help us further the work. Now we didn't actually find someone on the street they chose, but we did on the next one! If she didn't pick that street, we wouldn't have been in that area! God works in mysterious ways!

Quick spiritual thought, yesterday I think I gained a greater understanding of Mosiah 18:9. We were at a dinner appointment with a lady in our ward whose husband had passed away unexpectedly a few months ago. As she was talking to us about how she was struggling, I couldn't find the words to try and comfort her. Literally all I could do was listen to her and cry with her. Sometimes we won't know exactly what to say to someone who is mourning or struggling, but just being beside them can have a greater impact than we think. I love you all super tons, like for reals! Have a stellar week!!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
