Wednesday, I obviously arrived at the MTC and had classes all day. If anyone knows how language classes at the MTC go, they speak only your mission language, the whole time!!!! But all of us were lost and confused, so at least we did it together!!! My comp's name is Zuster Larsen from Highland, Utah. Thankfully we get along super well!!! (Maybe a little too well).
Thursday consisted of more studying, and trying to do that on top of being super tired. (First night sleep in the MTC is nonexistent). Thursday night we got to meet our branch presidency!! Super nice people, so it'll be fun to get to know them better!
Friday we finally got our first exercise day!!! Usually, we'll exercise with our zone, but our first week was a little different since we hadn't gotten into the flow of things yet.
Saturday is our designated service day, so we went to the building we have classes in and vacuumed and washed windows for an hour. Not super exciting, but something different than the regular. I officially taught my first lesson in Dutch and it didn't suck too bad!!
First Sunday was pretty great day!!! We had church n stuff, but the really great part happened after that! We took a zone walk to the temple which was AWESOME!! On our way there, some people had a table set up with cookies and hot chocolate for us missionaries. AND they took pictures of us to send to our Mom's!! Talk about Light the World!!! We then attended the amazing choir! (basically story time with some singing, I loved it). Then had a super great devotional by UVUs institute choir. Not too bad.
Monday, part of our zone left to the field, which means they were up at midnight...vacuuming their rooms. Then up at 5 screaming at all the other sisters... Then just basic classes and studying so not too exciting.
MAGIC TUESDAY!!! Any of you really desire to know what that is, you can email me personally, or ask brother Jake. He knows. We had a good devotional with the general young men's president, Elder Owen.
Only cool thing about Wednesday was my comp and I did our first lesson, all in Dutch, with no notes!!! The spirit is real and the gift of tongues is real!!!
Spiritual thought to conclude this too long email, (I'll do better next week). This week sucked so bad when I first got here and I was for sure going to come home. I didn't want to be here, I was depressed, anxious, angry, etc. But during my Sunday devotional, the idea of forgetting yourself was brought up a lot!!! I realized I was too focused on myself and my own problems when I should've been focusing on the work I should've been doing. How crazy things change when you change your mindset towards Christ!!! Love you all and have a great week!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
