To make this email shorter than the last one, and hopefully more interesting, I'll just highlight the super cool stuff.
I honestly didn't really believe anyone when they told me that Christmas in the MTC is the best, but really, what a great two days!!!! On Christmas Eve after our classes, we watched a bunch of kids act out the Nativity. So cute!!! We then watched a very weird, old version of a Christmas Carol... I never really liked that movie, and this was exceptionally weird, but oh well!!!
KERST!!! My roommates and I decided that it would be a good idea to wake up at 5:00 and open our Christmas presents. We then had a devotional with Elder Bednar. Our choir sang at it, and yes I sing in the choir. But fun fact, my comp and I were the first shot on the camera!! Super cool. After we ate our lunch, we got to Skype our families!!! So good to talk to the fam! It was a little weird, because I haven't been here that long, but I'm glad we got to! Later that night we had a surprise devotional with...DAVID ARCHULETA!!! It was so awesome to listen him sing and share his testimony with us. AND he agreed to "meet" us all! (By meet, we walked by really fast and he shook our hands).
Spiritual thought of the week. On Christmas Eve during lunch, the MTC president and his wife sat by me and a few sisters in my district. While we were talking, they asked how our Dutch was coming. Of course our comments ranged from, super good to super bad... Sister Martino (President's wife) then shared a very profound thought to us. She said learning a language (or any trial) is like Peter walking on the water. The very second we start to doubt ourselves, or look at the storm, we will sink. But if we look toward the Savior, we'll stay afloat. We will succeed in what he has planned for us. Love you all and have an great week!!!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
