Well fam, it's me again. I felt like we just barely did this but it's good. So this week was oddly busy with not a whole lot going on. Yeah, weird. But we had some good visits with people we're teaching and all that fun and great stuff. Definitely going with the slow and steady wins the race thing here.
But we did have zone conference this week and it was a BLAST!! As usual, President and Zuster Buysse are so amazing and I'm so grateful to serve with them here on my mission. Big plus about zone conference this transfer... KEUKENHOF!!! (The tulip festival). It seriously was such a blast and a half! I got to see a lot of old mission pals and meet new ones too! And how can you not be on cloud 9 when you're surrounded by a bunch of missionaries AND tulips!!! Don't worry, pictures will follow.
Second crazy experience of this week, we basically had a big service day on Saturday. My comp and I and 3 other companionships got to participate in a really cool event here in Utrecht. It was a 50 km bike ride, but here's the catch-you ready? We rode 50 km on a tandem bike with blind people! It seriously was the COOLEST thing I've ever done! Some people didn't show up so my comp and I just rode together along the trail and helping those who needed it along the way. And other than getting to eat lunch where the Netherlands national soccer team trains, it was so cool to meet new amazing people who are so happy, despite their circumstance. Such a blessing to participate in!
So quick story about the subject line. We were at a dinner/lesson appointment on Sunday and the member we brought with us was just talking to the guy whose house we were at. Being still SUPER new to Dutch, I was just sitting and enjoying my food, having no idea what was going on. All of a sudden, the guy asked me how I like my president. Being oblivious to the situation, I just said "I love him!!" Then he replied with, "Yeah, we hate him." I was so offended because I thought my mission president is one of the most amazing people I've ever met... Turns out they were talking about America's president...not my mission president. oops.
So this week, with it being Mother's Day on Sunday, I thought I'd include my two cents about how amazing mothers are. I've been so grateful for the many examples of motherhood I've had in my life thus far. I'm so grateful for the mothers who have "adopted" me into their home and treated me like their own while I've had to spend time away from my own mom. And most important, I'm SOOO grateful for my own mom who sacrifices so much for me. I wouldn't be anything near the person I am today without her influence! When I've had really tough weeks, she is always there to keep me on my feet and tell me that I got this! THANK YOU MOM!! LOVE YA! Love the rest of you too and have a great week!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
