Matthew 22:37-39

OoiHoi iedereen!! Another week has come and gone. Whoa do weeks go by fast these days! But this week was pretty good. Not a ton of stuff happened but we still are seeing lots of blessings and miracles. My cute comp turned 20 on Sunday!! So that was fun to celebrate her birth together. And her being the cute and selfless person she is, bought me flowers and chocolate when I was having a bad day! So thankful to have such an amazing comp!!

So cool miracle/story for this week. On Saturday I had exchanges with one of my STLs. Those are always a good time because I just learn SO much about how I can better my work as a missionary!! So right before we had to go home, we only had like 15 minutes to contact people on the street. And literally, there was almost NOBODY on the street! But we walked up to one guy and told him a little bit about the Book of Mormon and how he can come closer to God and he was interested in learning more! So blessed and SO COOL!!

So my spiritual thought for this week. The other day we had a lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You know the faith, repentance, baptism, Holy Ghost, endure one. So after having him read a scripture about faith, I had asked him, "Why do you think faith is the first principle of the gospel?" (In Dutch of course). He began to say something about without faith, we have nothing, but mid-sentence he said, "I actually think without love we have nothing." Now I'm not trying to change church doctrine at all, but that really opened my eyes a little bit. Sometimes I think I have great faith that I can find someone ready to hear the good news of the gospel and help them draw closer to Heavenly Father. Which is great! But unless my intentions are correct (finding people because I genuinely love them and want to help them improve their lives), then what's the point? We must first have love for the Savior and love for others, and that's when we see true miracles in not just the lives of others, but in our own as well. How grateful I am to be able not just to teach God's children about the gospel, but to also be taught about how I can improve and draw closer to Him. Love you all and have a blessed week!!
Love,
Zuster Kapp

(P.S.) Sorry I'm not very good at answering everyone's emails! I don't have a ton of time to get to everyone, but I still appreciate you taking your time and emailing me! I'll try to be better!!

Pics: my comp and I (this was on her birthday btw) and a pretty bike ride home!
