The Wonderful Waffles of België

This week was super eventful, but I'll try to keep it short and somewhat interesting. So Wednesday I had the incredible opportunity to go to Belgium to work out some "business" stuff for our residency. It was so great to see some MTC pals and eat some REALLY good food! Yes, Belgian waffles are all that they're jazzed up to be. SOO good!

We also had exchanges with our STL's which was a super good/needed learning opportunity for my comp and I. I was able to learn so much about what I can do, and also as scary as missionary work is, it's something that I actually am capable of doing. Then Saturday was the incredible Koningsdag. Basically, it's party day for the Netherlands. Our whole zone got together in Rotterdam and just contacted people all day. And I found a girl from BOSTON!! Totally geeked out for a second about the Red Sox to her. I think maybe that's why she agreed to meet with missionaries another time. I always knew the Red Sox were the chosen baseball team. (We're going to pretend that I don't know they're not doing too good right now).

So spiritual thought for this week. One thing I've noticed me doing a lot on my mission is really longing to be in places that I'm not. When I got into the MTC, I would give anything to go back home and be able to lay in my bed and watch Netflix and listen to music all day. When I got to the Netherlands I so badly wanted to go back to Kansas. When I got here in Utrecht, you guessed it, I wanted to go back to little Emmen. But what good does longing to be where we were do for us? Remember Lot's wife? As amazing as past experiences/places have been, I personally don't want to turn to a pillar of salt. But God has us in certain places/situations for a VERY specific reason. We can either find that reason and enjoy it while we have it, or loath not being in the nice, comfortable places we once were in. Love y'all super tons!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
