Anyway, this week was a little bit (a lot a bit) crazy! My comp and I basically traveled around the entire country for different meetings and other events throughout the week! I had my first Dutch zone conference! And yes, it was actually in Dutch.. One day I'll understand what happens at these things. But it was cool to meet a bunch of new missionaries and see some pals from the MTC! And feeling the spirit is always good too.
Probably the highlight of this week was our trip to HAARLEM!!! (No, not the one in New York). Haarlem was my comp's last area and we got special permission to go to a baptism. It was super cool to see my first baptism on the mission! The spirit was super strong and the guy getting baptized was just grinning ear to ear the whole time! And fun fact about Haarlem, if any of y'all have seen The Best Two Years.. it's that place.
So I thought about doing spiritual/encouraging thought about General Conference this week, but I'll leave that for next week and just say WATCH IT! It'll be amazing. But what I do want to share was a really cool insight I learned from Zuster Buysse during zone conference this week. I'm pretty sure we all know the golden rule, right? Treat others the way you want to be treated. But what about the platinum rule? Treat others the way THEY want to be treated! I've never thought about that before and how important! Everyone is special and unique in their own way, and they deserve the same love and encouragement that we desire, but they may desire it in a different way. Well fam/friends! Love y'all lots and I'll talk to you next week!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
