But we were very smart in our plans for this week! Our pday last week was the hottest day, so we spent it in some nice and cool caves built by the Romans! The other side of the caves took us to these castle ruins! I love living in a place with so many pretty sites to enjoy!
This last week was just the same old amazing missionary work that I get to do. I got to go on exchanges in Eindhoven with one of my STLs. Twas a swell time and we talked to LOTS of cool people! Even met a lady from Ecuador and I totally geeked out when she told us that! Funny story of the week, many missionaries can probably attest that wearing helmets is NOT cool. It is actually a very frequent occurrence to get comments about our helmets, mostly by 12-14 year old boys. One Sunday we were biking and I saw some young tweeners ahead. I then braced myself to get some comment about my "leuke helmpje" but instead, this kid starts yelling, "Ginger! Ginger! Ginger!" That was a new one that I wasn't expecting haha. Made me laugh.
Anyway, so this week I've given a lot of thought to where my self worth comes from. Sometimes as a missionary I feel very "love" deprived. Not everyone loves two strangers knocking on their door or being stopped on the street, so I often feel very disliked. But sometimes I feel like I should feel worse than I actually do when someone tells us to get a move on because they're not interested. I think a very big lesson I've learned on my mission is that despite the labels often put on me, I still feel deeply loved by amazing family, friends, and most importantly Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. That's what's most important to feel and also show. I'm so grateful for the knowledge of an eternally loving Father in Heaven and my amazing family and friends that continuously support me and pick me up, even when they don't know I'm feeling down. Love you all tons and hope your week is super stellar!
Love,
