My last week in Maastricht was a HUGE blessing! I was very sick of the area and we saw a lot of miracles that gave me the confidence to stay another transfer. But obviously the Lord had some other plans!!! Because Sunday morning, I met my new comp and got on a 2.5 hour train to Rotterdam! We've been super busy the last couple of days just trying to find our feet in this area (my comp got here only 5 days before I did). So yeah, we're both pretty new so we'll learn together!! It was hard having to say a quick goodbye to so many people that I learned to love in Maastricht, but I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be!!
Unfortunately, because of my crazy weekend, I haven't been able to finish all of the sessions of General Conference, so I'll share a good spiritual thought about that next week. But for this week, the idea that you don't receive a witness until after the trail of your faith has never hit so true!! I prayed so hard for a transfer and was so disappointed when I didn't get one. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Maastricht, but it was just very intimidating to serve there for 6 months when I didn't stay more than 6 weeks in all of my other areas. But when I finally decided to accept that I was going to stay in Maastricht and I was actually going to do my BEST work that transfer, I got called to a new city. Now I understand that this doesn't always happen, but sometimes the Lord answers our prayers in very mysterious ways, but they're always for our benefit. I am 100% positive that I just needed to show God that I was willing to do what He asked of me before he showed me that He was willing to also grant me some of my desires. I'm SO grateful for this gospel and the chance I have to share it with the people of Rotterdam!! I love you all so much and hope you have a blessed week!!
