So crazy event... I think that because I'm sick I don't make the most rational decisions. So last Tuesday my comp and I were sitting in our apartment and I asked her if she wanted to cut my hair. So right then and there, we pulled out the scissors and I said goodbye to like 8 inches of my hair. It was kinda a wild experience but the hair is gone and I'm actually really enjoying it.
We also had a super cool meeting at the mission home with my president and his wife and that was quite needed. They talked a lot about perfectionism and how we need to realize that we're not just enough, but we're more than enough and not to be too hard on ourselves. That was such a blessing for me because I frequently think that I do nothing right and that everyone always does things better than I can. But all that God expects of me is my best and that's enough.
Wild story from yesterday. We had our interviews with our mission president and we were trying to get back to Zoetermeer from Den Haag. But for some odd reason, all the trams and metros weren't going and we couldn't figure out a way to make it home. So after about an hour of just standing, waiting, and asking workers at the station (I know it doesn't actually seem that bad, but it's weird for the Netherlands) we took a train to Leiden and got on a bus and finally, after about 3 hours, made it home! Gotta love stormy weather!!
Spiritual thought for this week! So kinda different, but on Saturday morning we were biking home from the church and saw the most beautiful sunrise coming up behind the temple AND there was a rainbow surrounding the temple. It was honestly quite surreal but super cool! Just how the lighting was, it looked like there was a literal force field around the temple. It was super cool to see and realize that, even though it may have been a sort of illusion, there really is a spiritual force field around the temple to protect us from the outside world. :) If possible, I encourage you to take a trip to the temple this week and to recognize the protection it gives. Love you all super tons and have an awesome week!!
Love,
Zuster Kapp
